Almost any electronic mailbox has ever been the target of all sorts of junk messages, from advertisements to scams; yet you would not stop using it because of this. What if there was a way to stop unwanted email? MailFrontier Desktop is intended to prevent unwanted mail from reaching your inbox. Actually, it works as a filter between your email client (Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express) and the outside world. It stops undesired messages by both creating allowed lists and using heuristic search. The application is really easy to use. It would work if you just import a list of allowed addresses from your email client. It will not only import the addresses that you have included in your contact list but also those addresses you have previously used or received mail from. This is an editable list, so you can delete or add other addresses if you need to. Similarly, you can create a blacklist of blocked addresses. Not only individual addresses can be added, there is the capability to include whole domains in both types of list. In addition, if you are a member of a mailing list, you may avoid messages from the list being confused with spam by allowing that given list. The heuristic search is customizable as well. In this respect, there are series of levels that allow you to make this application more or less responsive to a particular type of email. So, you will be able to customize responsiveness levels for sexual content, aggressiveness, offensive language, gamble, scams and challenge mail. However, there is a limitation: it only works for contents written in English. In this respect, you can configure the application to reject messages written in other languages. This application’s capability to detect unwanted email is backed up by this company’s worldwide network. This means that if a source of spam is detected in any part of the globe, you will be defended from it. In addition, MailFrontier Desktop offers other features.
