LxGuideStar Description

LxGuideStar is an easy-to-use application that can help you autoguide your telescope with a long exposure modified webcam. You can autoguide on stars at least as as faint as Mag 10 when using only a 60mm refractor and an SC3 BW webcam. Parallel(LPT) or serial (COM) ports are supported for webcam long exposure control. LxGuideStar is very easy to use, just connect to the telescope once, and the telescope will be remembered or future sessions until you change it. Set up your pixel resolution and connect to the camera. Then just pick a guidestar and you are already guiding! Main features: Long exposure modified webcams using LPT or COM ports for long exposure control. Optional subpixel autoguiding Options for reversal of guiding directions. Optional one way DEC guiding (S only/N only/N and S). Configurable box size (autoguiding subframe size). Easy contol over long and short exposure settings. Option to set image scale (arcsec/pixel). Philips webcams using YUV codec supported Autoguides in real time using the Y channel of the webcam. This is great for RAW modified webcams.
