LuJoSoft DeskLock Description

When it comes to protecting your computer data, there is no such thing as too much security, since even a little thing such as locking your desktop when you leave the PC could prevent prying persons from exploring your documents or changing programs’ settings. LuJoSoft DeskLock is a tiny application that serves a single purpose, that of blocking access to the desktop. This software solution does not require an installation, so you can run it without worrying that it might slow down your computer or adding traces in the Windows Registry. The way it works is quite simple: when you run it, you need to enter a password that will be later used to lock your desktop - there is even a confirmation window that allows you to double-check the spelling of the keyphrase (in case you forget it or you misspell it, you will not be able to access your PC). The benefit of using LuJoSoft DeskLock rather than just logging off is that your apps are still running in the background and even if intruders try to use dedicated keyboard combinations (such as Alt+F4 or Ctrl+Alt+Del), they will still not be able to shutdown the PC and restart it again. If they choose to power off the computer, LuJoSoft DeskLock will be displayed as soon as the computer is accessed. The only other option of the application is the possibility to change the password to another one, which can come in handy if you suspect your old one has been compromised, i.e. found out by another person. To wrap it up, LuJoSoft DeskLock can come in handy if you work with confidential documents and you want to make sure you are the only person who can access them and the computer they are stored on. Unfortunately, the app cannot automatically lock the desktop when the PC goes idle, so you need to remember to lock it whenever you leave the desk.
