Live Capture Description

Live Capture is a lightweight software application whose purpose is to help you capture your screen activity to an image file. It sports a clean and straightforward interface that offers quick access to a set of well-organized functions. Plus, you can switch to the minimalistic version of the utility, which lets you access its functions by clicking on the corresponding icons. Live Capture comes bundled with different capturing modes for helping you take screenshots, namely full screen, active panel, user-defined region, fixed area, and freehand drawing. The utility features a special mode, the “All In One Capture,” which enables you to select the area that you want to capture with your mouse and apply several editing operations. You are allowed to embed text messages (which can be customized in terms of size and color), insert arrows, ellipses, and rectangles, use a brush, and undo your actions. What’s more, you can export the snapshots to PNG, GIF, JPG, or BMP file format, open the image in an external program, copy the photo to the clipboard, assign hotkeys for a better control over the entire process, as well as pick a default target destination and activate the automatic saving function. Other notable characteristics worth mentioning are represented by the possibility to set up rules for the naming process, use a magnifier, color picker, color palette, and ruler, play sound notifications, capture the cursor, add watermarks (user-defined text or timestamp) on the screenshot, and upload the pictures on FTP servers. Last but not least, the tool lets you repeat the last capture, and customize its looks by changing the background color, font style, and skin. During our testing we have noticed that Live Capture carries out a task quickly, provides very good output results, and no errors showed up throughout the entire process. It doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered. All in all, Live Capture offers a handy set of parameters for helping you take snapshots, and is suitable for all types of users, regardless of their experience level.
