Leitourgia Description

It is the purpose of Leitourgia to help the "regular" pastor plan and collect worship materials so that they are then ready and handy to be formatted for print or other media presentations. Leitourgia will help pastors plan their worship far in advance, while also having the possibility to easily access this data at a later time. You can view the church liturgical years past and forward. Click to expand any grouping and click again on any particular worship event and see the lections and all the information you have previously entered. If your church does not follow the Liturgical Year, you can simply ignore the Lections or add your own. As well, you are able to easily add your own worship service events with a dialogue window. Main features: LECTIONS: Each Sunday's RCL readings are available through a direct link to the Vanderbilt Unversity Library web page. These readings can be copy and pasted back into the Leitourgia as desired. FILE HANDLING: Just drag and drop items such as web links and any other document or media file into any appropriate window. They are copied into a special folder and kept permanently for safe keeping. Each document can be opened simply by right clicking its icon! VIEW CONTROLS: Each window display can be resized by collapsing or expanding them. As well, they can be opened in their own separate window for a full view. EVENT CREATION: You can create a new worship service event or grouping in several ways. Very easily you can use the calendar and double click on any date to create one. SERMON WRITING: Here is one place where you can write your sermon, take any kinds of notes you would like, word studies, web articles, links, files and WHATEVER you want. You always know where your sermon is and you can start your sermons months in advance of when you preach them. Have a fabulous idea about a sermon or an illustration for next Easter? No problem! Go to next year's Easter Service and jot it down! Better yet, three years from now when you are working through this lection again you can come back to it to see all your studies. SEARCH FUNCTIONS: Full search functions of any text entered into the database. EXPORT CAPABILITIES: Export of materials in the RTF or TEXT formats which can be read by many kinds of word processors and text editors. AUTOMATIC SAVING: Leitourgia saves every 10 seconds so you will never lose anything important as you are working. In the preferences there is also the option for Leitourgia to save a backup of all your data every time it is launched to a folder of your choosing!
