Lanscan for Windows 8 Description

Lanscan for Windows 8 is a practical and effective utility designed for users who need to find out what devices are connected to their network and view their related details. Using this discovery tool, you are able to scan the entire network and view the IP address of the connected devices. The utility only runs in full screen, so if you are working with other applications, you will have to switch back and forth between Lanscan for Windows 8 and your desktop. The main window is very intuitive and simple to use. Easily set the IP address range and start scanning your network. The application identifies your computer’s default IPv4 network, your DNS server address and network mask and scans all hosts that are identified in the specified address range. As it completes the scan, the application generates a list of all discovered devices available in your local network. It provides you with advanced functionality and allows you to enable or disable predefined services, as well as define the UPD pots you want to be scanned. During our tests, we found out that the scanning process runs smoothly in the background and does not cause the system to freeze, and neither does it impact other running applications. In case you set a large IP address range, the scanning process might take a bit too long than you might expect, however it helps you to produce a simple map of your LAN while it scans the network. What’s more, the utility helps you to perform reverse DNS lookup of host domain name for each detected IPv4 endpoint. Considering all of the above, Lanscan for Windows 8 proves to be a steady solution that helps you to scan your entire network by specifying an IP address range and enables you to generate a network mask for all the detected endpoints that are available in your LAN.
