This is also open source so if need be it could easily be extended or customized. At enterprise level one needs this kind of a solution to let all team members collaborate, securely store all your documents and ensure regulatory compliance with absolute ease. With no vendor lock-in and with source code readily available, KnowledgeTree provides a more flexible, cost-effective alternative to proprietary applications. The software package can be configured as set up on an in-house server and access through client machines or configure it as a web based service where clients can access the services through browsers. The user interface is simple and easy to use. The interface was fairly intuitive to navigate as controls were at their expected places. Drag and drop access to the document repository for Windows, integration into MS office applications, customizable and convenient dashboard, meta data support, workflows for managing document generation and integration to your applications are some very useful features. Overall some of the major features are access of the document repository via multiple user interfaces, flexible documentation creation & collaboration, document versioning as well as document security & access controls, powerful indexing and search functions supported by metadata. The API documentation is good and comprehensive. That the application is scalable is on evidence from the clients they already serve. They cover a wide range in size. Cons: No apparent problems. Overall: This is a very comprehensive application with a lot of very useful functionality. Easy to use, easy to navigate and learn.
