Karakan Description

Karakan is a portable program that you can use to create MIDI karaoke files, by inputting lyrics into a specialized editor. Therefore, you can prepare songs with lyrics for parties. Since installation is not a prerequisite, you can store Karakan on a removable device (like a USB flash drive) and run it on any computer. So, you can keep it with you whenever you're on the move. Otherwise, you can simply extract the program files to any directory on the hard drive and run the executable file directly. What needs to be mentioned is that no items are left behind in the Windows Registry or on the hard drive after removing the app. The interface of the application is represented by a standard window with a simple layout. You can start writing lyrics into the file with the Song Text Format (STF) or import them from a plain text documents (TXT). It is possible to import Karaoke files (KAR). Karakan provides a tool for inserting special letters found in other languages besides English, and lets you select the hyphenation language. But you may also select the voice track, use a search and replace function, play the Karaoke file from the cursor's position, as well as export the project to a MIDI file with lyrics. From the Options menu you can select the MIDI output device, specify a path to an external karaoke player (e.g. input command-lines), customize the font and trigger warnings when the lyrics are longer or shorter than the vocal notes. The program includes user documentation, has a good response time and uses a low quantity of system resources, so it doesn't affect the computer's performance. No error dialogs have been shown in our tests and Karakan did not hang or pop up error notifications. On the downside, the interface needs to be updated in the appearance department.
