JumpPanel Description

JumpPanel is a useful tool that you can add to your Windows operating system (Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7).It allows you to create shortcuts to files and documents, and to see alerts when shared documents are changed or when new documents are added to a shared folder that you select for watching. With JumpPanel you are able to access the right thing, right away. Thing? Yeah, thing... as in documents, music, spreadsheets, movies, Web URLs, etc. Everyone loves shortcuts! You'll work faster and have more confidence that you are accessing the most current file. With JumpPanel you'll be able to organize your shortcuts to help you work most efficiently. No more drilling down through the Explorer tree! The amount of data, the number of applications, and the number of collaborative documents has exploded in the last few years. Jump Panel enables you to make sense of it all, your way, and give you quick access to what you need. JumpPanel will make you more efficient and allow you to organize your shortcuts in a way that is unique to how you want them. Other programs, like the Windows 7 Jump List feature, force you to have shortcuts organized by application. That is, quite frankly, short-sighted. The work you do, the files you share, the devices you use, and the information that you need is in multiple applications. JumpPanel can easily create shortcuts and generate alerts for files stored on a variety of drives. Shortcuts to files on inaccessible drives will display with a strike-thru. It may be necessary to restart JumpPanel, when the drive is later accessible, in order to eliminate the strike-thru. Also, for removable drives like thumb-drives, JumpPanel will only provide shortcut functionality. It won't provide alerts. Still it is a real time-saver! No more navigating to the drive and scrolling through gigs of files to open what you need. JumpPanel has its own backup of the shortcuts you create and any alerts that might be in your Alerts Panel at any given time. You can store your backup data in the default folder (>User >AppData >JumpPanel Backup) or choose a special drive/folder in the Settings window (if you want a Wuala drive/folder). Whenever you want you can restore the backup data. IMPORTANT: JumpPanel is not a backup of the data to which the shortcuts point. For that, you need to use the data backup system of your choice.
