JonDoFox is a Firefox profile that allows you to browse the Internet anonymously using a proxy server. It automatically integrates with your Firefox browser and is ready to run as soon as you open the browser. Just by installing JonDoFox doesn’t do the trick. If you don’t activate the use of a proxy, you IP address is not hidden and is sent in plain site. The application enables you to choose whether you want to use the JonDo or Tor proxies, as well as any other that you manually configure. To be able to use the JonDo or Tor services, you need to install the JonDo and Tor applications to be able to route all your information and remain anonymous. In case you want to download a large file and the application is affecting the transfer speed, JonDoFox allows you to bypass the proxy without shutting it down. You can do so by choosing the bypass option that is added to a links context menu. You are able to test your anonymity and switch between different proxy servers directly from the browser's’ interface as JonDoFox adds an icon to the Firefox interface. JonDoFox enables you to maintain your anonymity by eliminating the “Referer”. The latter is a HTTP feature that is capable of distinguishing different users on the Internet. The application enables you to choose when this feature is allowed or not to gather information and identify the user. Adding other extensions to your Firefox browser can compromise your anonymity so while JonDoFox runs, except for the Flash Player, all other plugins are deactivated. You can however deactivate this feature it disables an extension that is vital to your browsing experience. JonDoFox also makes sure that your queries are not accessed anyone else, so every thirty minutes, it deletes them.
