Joboshare Video to Audio Converter is a simple-to-use application with a pretty self-explanatory title - it allows you to extract the audio stream from video files (e.g. AVI, FLV, ASF, MP4) and save it to MP3, OGG, WMA, WAV and others. But it can also convert audio tracks (e.g. OGG, WMA). The interface is plain and simple to navigate through. Items can be imported into the file queue by using only the file browser because the "drag and drop" functionality is unsupported. It is possible to create a queue and encode multiple media files at the same time. The file list lets you view the name, duration, source and output target, along with status of each item. Once the output directory and profile have been specified, you can initialize the encoding process with the default settings. Otherwise, you can alter audio settings when it comes to the codec, bit rate, sample rate and channel mode. It is possible to create a new output profile but you cannot restore these settings to their standard values. Additionally, you can preview clips in a built-in media player and split them by time or size, as well as edit metadata. Furthermore, you can remove an item from the list or clear the entire queue. In "Preferences" you can specify the number of maximum simultaneous running processes and set Joboshare Video to Audio Converter to overwrite existing items. The audio extraction program requires a moderate amount of system resource to complete a task briefly. It has a good response time and contains user documentation. No errors have been displayed during our tests. The output audio tracks have a good sound quality. Too bad you cannot select the thread priority or merge media files.
