Java Treeview Description

Java TreeView is a software application designed specifically for helping you view and analyze microarray data in the PCL or CDT format. The purpose of the program is to render gene expression info with the aid of several interactive views. The advantages of being portableThe tool comes in a lightweight and portable package which can be easily deployed on your system without having to go through installation steps. Plus, it brings some benefits to your system, as it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry. You may copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices and take it with you whenever you need to view microarray data. Since it’s a Java-based utility, you should make sure you have previously installed the working environment on your computer otherwise you cannot run the program. User interfaceThe user interface is kept simple and clean, and you may import data from PCL or CDT file format or a user-defined link. Additionally, the info can be exported to PCL or CDT file format, and you can view a list with recently opened items, and edit recent files. Support for different views which are linked togetherJava TreeView gives you the possibility to work with various views, such as dendrogram, scatterplot of data values or per-gene statistics, karyoscope or alignment (aligned sequence data). Viewing and analyzing features You can use the automatic mode for streaming data into the main panel and work with a dendrogram for selecting genes, zooming in of the selected genes, add color to gene names and array names, as well as make use of hex codes for specifying colors. Several configuration settingsThe program is able to remember several preset settings, such as colors, zoom and URL and options. You may designate a particular preset to be used as your default one when opening new documents and configure preset color schemes for the dendrogram component. When it comes to exporting options, you are allowed to save data to PNG, PPM or JPEG file format, export info to vector-based postcript files, and save subsets of data (e.g. gene lists and cdts) to CSV file format. Bottom lineAll in all, Java TreeView proves to be a reliable Java-based program that integrates a decent feature pack for helping you view microarray data.
