Iranian Calendar Description

Iranian Calendar is a small gadget that lets you display the date from the Iranian Calendar on your desktop. The modern Iranian calendar, also known as Solar Hijri calendar, is the official calendar in Iran and Afghanistan. It begins on the vernal equinox as determined by astronomical calculations for the Iran Standard Time meridian, which is usually around the 21st of March in the Gregorian calendar. The years are designated AP (Anno Persico) and can be calculated by subtracting 621 or 622 from the Gregorian one, depending on the time of year. The gadget displays the day, month and year according to the Iranian Calendar using different colors. In the background, you are able to see a beautiful image from Iran or Afghanistan, and clicking on it opens an Internet browser containing the entire calendar. The image in the background can be easily changed by opening the setting panel and left clicking on it. From here, you are also able to change the Romanized text into Persian. If you right click on the gadget, a context menu opens with several options, the exact same ones that can be found in any Windows gadget, that enable you to set the window on top of every other application and to add other such applications. Plus, you can change the opacity from 100% to as low as 20%. All in all, Iranian Calendar is a small gadget that is useful to people who want to use the Solar Hijri calendar in their day-to-day life.
