HermeneutiX Description

HermeneutiX is an accessible application designed to help users with the diagramming syntactic and semantic structures of texts. You can select the origin of the language and set the font, then let the program perform the analysis. It separates each structure by encasing it, then allows you to view and modify the contents: you can add or remove propositions as well as make your own notes. The aim of the syntactical analysis analysis is a literal interpretation of the given text, while semantically, the program is designed to translate the text in order to communicate the pristine intended statement of the original author. HermeneutiX is a useful instrument that's been developed with the help of the Java programming language. Main features: Easy creation of syntactic and semantic structure analyses (shared origin text, propositions, labels and comments) Graphical user interface and file interpretation available in: English, German Possible origin languages to analyze: Greek, Hebrew Interchangeable XML-based file format (.hmx) Export to: SVG, PNG, JPEG Export to: HTML (currently just the semantical analysis) Internationalized: all language related informations are stored in separate XML files, and in this way available for any customizing effort without any programming skills required
