To ensure a better protection, most applications reach the end user in archives. As you know, they require special tools in order to be accessed. Gzip Manager Pro is such a utility with which you can not only open archives but also create them.Lightweight archiving utilityThe main window of the application is the only place where you will be doing all of the work. From there you have to manually look for the desired file you want to add to an archive. It would have been useful to see an option when right clicking the desired file, this function only being available for folders. Another feature of the application is the possibility to make archives password protected when creating them. Also, you may add a short description of what is found inside, in the “Story Board” tab. Options to store in volumes, as well as compression methods are missing, making it as straight forward as it can get. Compatibility issuesUnfortunately, Gzip Manager Pro is only able to handle archives that it created, with no support for other types however. Its brother applications can however, access its archives and extract from them. This can also be said by the password protection, which can easily be bypassed. There is no option that allows the application to open a larger variety of file types, the only ones available being to send to archive and extract. To end withTaking everything into consideration we can say that Gzip Manager Pro is nothing more than just straight forward. With compatibility issues, and no faster way to manage archives, it serves it's purpose poorly. Password protection is merely an illusion, your files being as vulnerable as before archiving.
