Geology from Space Gold, 1024x768 Description

This screen saver has 42 beautiful NASA/JPL radar images of geological formations around the world, including volcanoes, rivers, mountains, and more. The false-color palettes used in these images make them beautiful to look at as well as interesting to study. Spaceborne Imaging Radar-C/X-Band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SIR-C/X-SAR) is a joint U.S.-German-Italian project that uses a highly sophisticated imaging radar to capture images of Earth that are useful to scientists across a great range of disciplines. The instrument was flown on two flights in 1994. One was on space shuttle Endeavour on mission STS-59 April 9-20, 1994. The second flight was on shuttle Endeavour on STS-68 September 30-October 11, 1994. All photos include captions (optionally turned on or off) showing the city or area of the image. All photos are courtesy NASA and JPL. The high-quality 1024x768 photos will fill your screen and look great at any screen resolution (they will work fine for smaller screens too, so you won't miss anything). This screen saver uses low image compression for the best possible quality. System Requirements: Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0, 2000, XP or later About 3MB free hard disk space for the Lite versions, Gold versions vary from 6 MB and up We recommend that your computer support at least 16-bit color, with 24-bit color preferred. Anything less will not display the photos in their proper splendor.
