Fusion PDF Image Extractor Description

Fusion PDF Image Extractor is a straightforward and open-source piece of kit whose purpose is to extract images from PDF documents and save them to file, as the name suggests. It includes just a few settings that can be configured by both novices and experienced users. The interface is made from a regular window with a simple but well-organized layout, where you can point out a PDF using the file browser only, since the drag-and-drop feature is not supported. Unfortunately, batch processing is unsupported as well, so you can process only one PDF file at a time. All you have to do is specify the output directory and click a button to start the image extraction procedure. Pictures are created with the JPG format and numbers as file name, thus excluding the risk of overwriting. Before extracting the pictures, you can ask Fusion PDF Image Extractor to open the saving location on task completion. If you have Ghostscript installed on your computer, the tool will convert whole pages. Whether this is not featured or just a bug encountered in our tests, the program was not able to process multiple PDF pages, but only the first one. Plus, we would have liked for additional output image formats, such as PNG, BMP and TIF. Fusion PDF Image Extractor runs on a low amount of CPU and RAM, so it does not affect the overall performance of the machine. It has a good response time and preserves the original image quality. Multiple instances are allowed. No errors popped up in our evaluation, and the tool did not hang or crash. Furthermore, it can be implemented in software applications by developers. To sum it up, this may not be the most resourceful PDF image extractor available, but the application has an uncomplicated configuration set, making it accessible to anyone.
