French Verbs Description

French-English Dictionary of over 2,300 verbs. Full conjugation of all French verbs into 15 different tenses. Find, Verb of the Day, Verb Tables and Quiz Mode features, plus user-definable display preferences. Vocabulary suitable for study, travel, business and every-day living. Free application updates for registered users. How accurate is this application? We have spent a great deal of time testing French Verbs and are therefore very confident about the accuracy of word spellings and verb conjugations. Unlike other verb conjugation programs, all Irregular Verbs have been specifically taken into account. Why is it so important to have a lookup dictionary of verbs as part of a verb conjugation program? We have included a lookup dictionary of verbs in French Verbs in order to make the application more user-friendly and to maintain the accuracy of the conjugations. Other verb conjugation programs require the user to enter the French verb in full - this introduces a risk of error if the user spells the word wrong or forgets to put an accent on a key letter. Why can't I lookup English words using the "Lookup" field? French Verbs was designed as a reference tool for French verbs and not as a comprehensive French/English - English/French Dictionary. (See "Where can I get a full French/English dictionary?" below). Since the English verbs can have different translations into French depending upon their usage, you should use the "Find" feature - see "What is the purpose of the "Find" feature below". Why are there only 2,300 verbs? The vocabulary for French Verbs was designed to be comprehensive for study, travel, every-day living and business purposes. Many French verbs can be represented in a reflexive form and negated by adding "re" at the beginning (for example: rebaisser, rebattre, etc). Since all French students are aware of such basics, we kept the size of French Verbs to a minimum by avoiding such unnecessary repetitions.
