Faced with a collection that includes different formats, you need a tool that can convert all these different formats into the MP3 that is widely supported. A by-product of that is you can take your collection to all kinds of portable music and media players that is available today. The tool supports batch conversion. So, the interface offers a nice and simple means of collecting a batch of files for conversion. When converting the source file, tag data is maintained and taken without changes, to the destination files. The other interesting aspect of the converter is that, it can take advantage of the multi-core and multi-threaded processors. That means, when you do have such a processor on your machine, the program will actually speed up. As the conversion is direct, it does not go through an intermediate format, it adds to the speed too. The files that you collect for conversion can easily be searched for and found through the explorer like interface or you simply drag & drop the files into the work area. When conversion is initiated, you get a pop up screen that monitors the progress very closely. You get two progress bars that monitor individual track progress as well as the progress of the batch as a whole.
