Free 3GP Player is a very simple application that aims to provide users with a comfortable approach to video playback, specialized on handling 3GP files. 3GP is a popular media format, intended for use on mobile phones. Typically, most video players feature support for it, if equipped with the appropriate media codecs. Free 3GP Player is one of them. It installs its own video and audio codecs, which means you don’t have to go through the trouble of doing so yourself. The installation process is a bit tricky, since the package embeds a few third-party components that you’re better off without (just decline them, otherwise you’ll end up with unwanted toolbars). Concerning its appearance, Free 3GP Player is characterized by a simple look, with no eye candying elements. Nevertheless, this makes it easy-to-use and accessible to a wide array of audiences. There are no menus, the program’s feature set being encased in a few buttons that have representative icons, so as not to create confusion. Files can be added using the dedicated command, as drag and drop is not supported. The playback process can be managed via a set of basic controls that include play, pause, previous, next, as well as volume adjustments. Other functions become available in the right-click menu, which serves for customizing the playback speed, on top of the aforementioned set of controls. In addition, you can create playlists from your 3GP collection and get quick access to your favorite videos. The truth is that Free 3GP Player is at the lower limit of simplicity, which is proven by the rather poor feature set.
