Pros: Flash Adverts Agent is a Multimedia Digital Signage software system which can operate multiple display units (LED/LCD displays, VGA projectors and video walls) remotely across a LAN, WAN or internet. This application can control multiple points of display at points distributed across a building, a city/ town or even across the internet. Each individual points of display need not have a media player such as a VCR, VCD player or a CD-ROM. Advertising content is served up from a administrative machine and software will control what content will be shown where, when and for what duration. Beside the administrative tool couple of other contents that would be required are the deployment tool and a point of display player. The downloadable trail module is obviously the administrator tool. The interaction area is simple and the controls are simple. These are mainly the tools to manage advertisements such as add an advert, edit adverts and so on. Then there are status areas that show what is being displayed where, what rates etc. Cons: What is being talked about in this solution is about static ads. The players at the points of display would need to be capable of holding one screen worth of image data and receiving it when sent from the admin module. The displays, even in such simple scenarios, will need to be capable of handling TCP/IP. Which would mean special hardware being deployed or may be a complete PC driving a LCD/Plasma display. If the display is video based or a video wall, streaming video distribution will have to be implemented. The hardware at the points of display will necessarily be complete processor systems. Even then the software is likely to be proprietary. Overall the admin module looks easy to use, user is not likely to see any complexity of deployment.
