FinalData Standard Description
Data is constantly written and read to and from storage devices and after some time, errors might occur. This can lead to data loss, or it can simply happen due to lack of attention on your behalf. However, there are countless applications dedicated to putting memory units under the scope in an attempt to recover deleted files, with one example being FinalData Standard.Simple, well-organized interfaceThe application isn't packed with any shiny elements to keep you distracted or take up precious system resources. The interface is kept clean and intuitive, with a side panel letting you quickly access the folder structure, while the rest of the space lets you view files along with details like status, cluster, date modified, type and more. Select target devices and set cluster range Storage devices that are connected to your PC are enlisted in a drive selection window. Next up, you need to set scanning range, which is done by adjusting sliders representing start and end clusters. Needless to say that the wider the range, the higher the change to find missing files, but at the cost of time. It can take a while until the scan process is finished, with the progress window displaying remaining time, files found, as well as the cluster count. Once the task is done, you are free to browse through all the files enlisted in the panel mentioned above. Far from being a proUnfortunately, the process might leave you disappointed, with few files found even if they were recently removed or through the basic command, without any special wiping applications. Moreover, there's no possibility to sort out items and only have deleted files made visible for easier identification. Files are also found under coded names, so using the integrated search engine to find files of interest won't be of much help. On the other hand, recovery only requires little effort, with context menu entries making sure the task is done in a jiffy. Additionally, you can choose to generate a preview of the file just to make sure it's what you're looking for. To end withOn an ending note, FinalData Standard isn't quite the application you're expecting if you want to recover lost files. Although it is able to detect all devices you connect, while settings give you the possibility to thoroughly specify search conditions, the scan process can take some time and the result most likely leaves you disappointed.
