ExtRes, external resource file Description

EditBy ExtRes is a programming Library for Win32 programmers. You can create and retrieve textual resources for use in your application. Main advantage of Extres is that the resources are kept outside your executable, opposed to the resources you put in your windows resource file. Furthermore the resources will be encrypted and optionally compressed. In your application, simply load the Extres file at startup and use the Texts you need. This version includes direct support for C-C++ and Borland's C++Builder and Delphi. It requires MS Windows 95 or above to run. Some of the benefits of Extres: * The resource file is separate from your program executable, so updating the resources does not mean a recompile. * Encryption : the textual resources you put in your resource file are encrypted, you can optionally create a custom encryption key. * Compression : optionally you can compress the textual resources. * The textual resources you use can be of any format (RTF, HTML, Source-Code, Strings), as long as it is textual. * Multi-lingual applications, simply create a separate resource file for each desired language. As an extra you can download for fee the tool ExtresCreator, for creating the Extres files. This is a Windows program created in Delphi. With drag and drop you can add text(html,rtf,source-code) files to you resource file, or you can enter texts manually. You can set resource id's and the program can generate the Pascal- or C-code to define your resource id's.
