DTX Deformation for MAX8 Description

We aim here to create texmaps that allows 3D artists easy exploit dynamics of objects in texturing their surfaces. Properties of these maps change dynamically due to different actions over objects: deformation, motion, acceleration, changing object-to-object relationships such as distance, axis angles due to surface etc. Allows 3D artist to blend three subtex/colors due to owning object deformation value and sign. Blending can be easy adjusted using Deformation/Mix curve as for single or multiple owning objects. It has the feature that allows to preview texmap for custom samples varying its deformation. Dynamic Texmaps are really dynamic. That means their properties are related to time. When an object property DTX map bounded to is changing - the map is changing too. Deformation of object can be evaluated only relatively. It means that at some time an object must be assumed as non-deformed and then an object geometry is compared with this non-deformed state and deformation evaluated. Non-deformed state is defined by 'Zero deformation frame' spinner of 'Deformation Parameters' roll-out. As usual texmaps are independent of owning object properties. In opposite DTX texmaps must track these ones. So texmap settings can be adjusted for any owning object separately or be made common for all owners. Sub-texmaps or colors to be blended ('Map Parameters' roll-out) are common for all owners of current map instance while deformation evaluation properties ('Deformation Parameters' roll-out) can be adjusted for each owner separately. Limitations: ■ Save/Load - if DTX_Deformation texmap was saved within the scene, after loading it can not perform deformation evaluation until you register it. ■ 5 Day Evaluation Trial - when this term from the first run is expired DTX_Deformation should not perform evaluation until you register it.
