DSO/XML Conversion Utility Description

The DSO/XML Conversion Utility is designed to round-trip convert Decision Support Objects (DSO) metadata and objects to/from XML. The DSO object model is an API for creating/modifying Analysis Services objects and this tool is a mechanism for building XML-based “scripts” based on Analysis Services objects. These scripts form a robust data definition language (DDL) for Analysis Services. The utility consists of a conversion library and a sample client application. Within the sample client application, a user connects to a server through the File, Connect menu. Once connected to an Analysis Services server, the user can generate XML files from DSO objects or vice-versa.
