Editor's review: CruX is a peer to peer file sharing utility to download any kind of content including music, movies, documents and other files. Pros: CruX is a pretty standard peer to peer file sharing utility. It connects to all the most popular peer to peer frameworks including Gnutella and eDonkey, and also allows the downloading of Torrents. A user can use it to download and share all kinds of content and files including music, movies, games, documents, and other files. The interface is pretty standard so it does not require any extra learning effort on the part of the user who is used to using P2P software. Other features include the library management functions, the ability to monitor downloads (“transfers” in the language of the program), giving information about connection quality, ratings for files, filtering for content and more. One of the best things for CruX as compared to some other standard file sharing applications appears to be its low resource consumption. Even when a large number of files were being downloaded, it still did not significantly slow down. Users who have experienced temporary freezes (“program not responding”) with something like LimeWire, especially on slower computers will find this to be a great benefit. Cons: The interface is unattractive and worse than some other, more popular peer to peer file sharing software. There seem to be fewer customization options that are available, and advanced users will not like this fact. There were some issues with the management functions – clearing files as well as managing transfers that may cause problems for some users. It does not have a built in media player. Overall: 4 stars. Works fairly well. The main negative is that the interface is worse than most P2P software. The main advantage is that its resource consumption is low. Publisher's description:
