Cool Ruler Description

Cool Ruler is a simple-to-use application that shows a ruler on screen, thus allowing you to measure objects and page margins. It comes in handy for graphic designers, for instance. The installation procedure is quick and does not require special attention. Unfortunately, Cool Ruler has not been updated for a long time, and it is not compatible with newer OS platforms. The ruler has a silver skin and is displayed horizontally, but you can switch to the vertical position by clicking the first button in the upper right corner. Aside from moving the app's frame anywhere on the screen, you can add as many markers as you want. Cool Ruler's configuration is made through the context menu. You can set the measurement mode to a preset unit (inches, pixels, centimeters) or set a custom value by defining the unit size (pixels per unit), ticks per unit, and display unit value. It is also possible to modify the ruler scale, clear marks, change the mark color and font, as well as bring up additional rulers (i.e. multiple instances are allowed). The app also integrates a scientific calculator, which is available through the main screen. Cool Ruler has a good response time and uses minimum system resources, so it doesn't decrease overall performance. No error dialogs have been shown in our tests, and the utility did not hang or crash. All in all, Cool Ruler offers a simple solution to using an on-screen, multipurpose ruler.
