CellPix Description

Perhaps you intend to sell mobile image content commercially or want to have a photo album on your phone or perhaps have images on your phone that only you can access. The CellPix application takes any images and turns them into a single Java file, along with optional textual descriptions as well as a secure viewer for the images. CellPix encapsulates images along with a Java program that can provide the ability to browse the images and to include extra textual information with the images. For instance a stock photographer might want to give a lengthy description of where a photo was taken and with what equipment as well as a number to order a copy of an image. Other uses might be: - Display of catalogue information with textual description and prices - Packaging of manga and cartoon stories into a single download - A family photo album Memory issues CellPix is very good at dealing with limited memory and can run on older java phones. It does this by only decoding images when they are needed for display and reclaiming the memory as soon as a new image is displayed. Selling content built with CellPix CellPix provides a way to package together content for commercial sale into a JAR file. Two features help with this: - The JAR file can be designated to be viewable until a given time so that content expies after a certain period - A PIN code can be set so access is restricted to those who have recieved the code CellPix's advantages over MMS The MMS format allows packaging of images but there can be great incompatabilites between phones. CellPix provides a standardised viewer with the images that will run on any Java enabled phone. Furthermore the text associated with MMS images is limited. CellPix allows large amounts of textual information to be associated with each image.
