CPU Power Description
CPU Power is a small-sized and portable piece of software that you can use to set the CPU priority level. It does not include complicated options or configuration parameters, making it suitable to all users, regardless of experience. Since installation is not a requirement, you can drop the executable file to a custom location on the hard disk and just click it to run. There is also the possibility of saving CPU Power to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any computer with minimum effort and no previous installers. What's more, CPU Power does not add new entries to the Windows registry, Start menu or any other part of the hard disk, leaving it clean after removal. The user-friendly GUI is based on a small, standard window with a plain and simple layout, where the "what you see is what you get" principle clearly applies, since there are no other options available, apart from the ones shown in the main frame. So, all you have to do is select a thread priority and establish the CPU counter. There are no other notable options provided by this software utility. CPU Power runs on a very low quantity of CPU and RAM, so it does not affect the overall performance of the PC. It has a good response time. No error dialogs were shown in our tests, and the program did not hang or crash. Unfortunately, CPU Power is not very resourceful. However, we must keep in mind that the app has not been updated for a while. Reviewed by Elena Opris, last updated on December 10th, 2013
