CD-Cover Editor Description

CD-Cover Editor is a simple-to-use tool which can help you create and design covers for your CDs and DVDs. The program comes equipped with a very plain interface that's easy to navigate through. Upon initialization, you can select a label to create a new cover. So, you can choose a CD jewel case booklet, front or back insert, DVD case or inside insert, CD or DVD label, slimline CD jewel or DVD case insert. But you can also pick a standard cover - standard or slimline CD or DVD (or create your own one). CD-Cover Editor gives you the possibility of inserting text (set the font style, attributes and color, text alignment and orientation) and images from the hard drive (e.g. JPG, GIF, BMP, ICO). Furthermore, you can add a tracklist (e.g. add multiple rows, import from playlist, CD or files) and a background image (optionally switch to tile mode). In addition, you can change the position and alignment of an object (e.g. text box), as well as use the undo, redo, cut, copy and paste functions. Once you are satisfied with the results, you can save the your project as a CD-Cover Editor file and print it. The application runs on a moderate amount of system resources, includes a step-by-step guide with snapshots and didn't freeze, crash or pop up any errors during our tests. On the other hand, the software has an outdated interface and limited features. For example, you cannot apply effects to pictures or text. This implies that you have to use an image editor before entering CD-Cover Editor (if you want to add a little style to your CD/DVD covers). All in all, CD-Cover Editor is a good program for creating and printing CD and DVD covers, but we have certainly seen better.
