Break Description

Break has been developed for helping the users work more effectively by recording their work times and reminding them when they've been working for too long. Break is ready to go the instant it is installed, but you will probably want to configure it so it more relevant to how you work. To start the timer click on the icon. When the time is up you will be notified and you can either go on break, or press Snooze if you are in the middle of a job and need an extra five minutes. Break maintains a running total to show you how long you are on your computer, and what you do most on it. In addition, Break totalises time at work, on break and away from the computer. The timer can be set from 15-90 minutes to remind you to get up and go for a walk, have a coffee, go home, go to bed. Text logging, Target time notification, Auto reset, file logging & auto boot are also supported. Break is written in Assembly Language for maximum efficiency. Main features: Any work type can be selected throughout the day. Work types can be re-named, copied... or deleted. Time that you are not working is tallied as well, as well as time that you are away from the computer. A reminder can be set to tell you when you have exceeded a set maximum break time. Computer activity can be used to determine if the user is on the computer or not, but this can be switched manually if preferred. The time that Break uses to decide if the user is active or not can also be changed. The "Away" mode can be temporally disabled with the "At Meeting " function. Automatically calculated for total work, total away, total break and each work type is an average work per day and percentage of time spent. Daily work totals can be logged to a text file as well as a work averages summary. Notes on the days work can be logged as well. A daily target can be set; this can be done manually or it can be automatically calculated using the recent work average. The work total can be reset if you want to tabulate by project. Break can be controlled via the system tray icon or via the main window. Likewise, a detailed view of Breaks status is shown on the main window, and the tray tooltip shows a summary. Times can be displayed as fractional hours or as minutes. The main window can be set to be on-top of other windows and transparent as well. (The degree of transparency is configurable.) Time that you are not working is tallied as well, as well as time that you are away from the computer. The main window shows detailed data of up to twenty recent work types, but if this is too big the window can be gradually reduced down until it shows only three or none at all. Integrated break reminder that supports micro breaks. For the main break a window is shown, and the text on this window can be customised. It can even be selected randomly from a user provided list. A balloon tip is show instead for the micro breaks so they aren't too distracting. Both break types can play a sound file (most sound files are supported) which can be a specific file or it can be randomly selected from a folder. Alternatively Break can play a system sound or make no sound at all. The main break reminder can also be used to run a file. There is a snooze function, the time of which can be varied. For those that want to be interrupted, Break can blank the screen forcing you to stop work. The screen size and position and other settings are saved for convenience.
