BootSafe Description

BootSafe is a freeware tool that allows you to boot into Safe Mode directly from Windows. As you probably know if you're a more experienced user, in order to boot into Safe Mode you normally need to press the F8 key on the keyboard during the system boot. Well, the purpose of BootSafe is to make the whole process a lot faster and easier. Basically, it is just a Windows GUI for this entire system, which means that you can now boot in Safe Mode straight from your operating system. Of course, since it was designed just with this goal in mind, you shouldn't experience too many problems, despite the fact that a help section is not available. The main window groups all options, so you can start a normal restart, enter Safe Mode mode with no network or Internet access, launch Safe Mode with network support or Safe Mode and Directory Services Repair. There are no other settings to play with, but keep in mind that pressing the “Reboot” button launches the action right away, so make sure you save your work before anything else. BootSafe works okay on all Windows versions, but administrator privileges are needed on Windows 7 workstations. All things considered, this is the right tool if you switch to Safe Mode on a regular basis. You should figure out how to use it in a second and it does its job without assaulting users with unnecessary options. Reviewed by Bogdan Popa, last updated on May 31st, 2012
