BHOCaptor Description

BHOCaptor is a lightweight and portable piece of kit that lets you view and deactivate the Browser Helper Objects (BHOs) that may be hogging Internet Explorer, causing it to run slower than usual. It can be used by all individuals, regardless of their skill level. Since installation is not required, you can just drop the program files anywhere on the hard drive and run the EXE file immediately. As an alternative, you can move BHOCaptor to a USB flash drive or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any workstation with minimum effort. Another important aspect to mention is that Windows Registry does not receive entry updates, and files do not remain on the hard disk after program removal. The interface of the tool consists of a single window where all IE Browser Helper Objects are automatically listed upon deployment; you can check out their descriptions and file paths. Double-clicking an item brings up its Properties dialog where you can view additional information. Henceforth, you can select one or more BHOs from the list and deactivate them with the single click of a button. Changes are immediately applied to the PC. If you want to restore the status of a deactivated BHO, you must re-install the software app that activated it in the first place. There are no other notable options supplied by this tool. BHOCaptor is very low-demanding when it comes to the CPU and system memory, so it doesn't hog the computer's resources. It has a good response time and carries out tasks rapidly, without causing the OS to hang, crash or show error notifications. On the downside, BHOCaptor has not been updated for a pretty long time.
