AviFiXP Description

AviFiXP is a straightforward piece of software that enables you to check Audio Video Interleave items (AVI format) for errors, and to recreate the index of damaged, corrupted or incomplete videos. The interface of the application is represented by a standard window with a plain layout. It doesn't strive in the visual department but we must take into account that the app has not been updated for a pretty long time. Adding clips to the file queue is done with the help of the file browser or "drag and drop" method. Batch processing is supported, so you can add as many files as you want; the list shows the name and path for each item. After AviFiXP checks the files for errors, it shows statistics in the Messenger Center panel, such as total errors, video frames and audio samples. Rebuilding the index is immediately done, with the simple click of a button. In addition, you can make the frame stay on top of other windows, integrate the tool into the context menu, keep the original files and create new ones and set a prefix, as well as clear the messages in the Messages Center before starting any operation, among others. AviFiXP is pretty low-demanding when it comes to the CPU and system memory. It has a good response time and carries out tasks swiftly, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. We haven't come across any issues in our tests. Although it has not been updated for a while and packs limited functions, AviFiXP offers a pretty straightforward solution to rebuilding the index of AVI files with issues.
