Autorun Protector Description

Autorun Protector is a lightweight application that enables users to protect their computer from the autorun.inf virus that spreads through removable drives. It also removes the file and fixes some drive opening problems. Installation is not necessary, so you can run the executable file from any location on the hard disk, as long as you have administrative privileges. What's important to keep in mind is that the Windows Registry does not get entry updates, and files are not left behind on the hard disk after removing the utility. The GUI consists of a single window and a few buttons, where you can view the current autorun protection status. All you have to do is select the letter corresponding to the removable drive, in order to enable protection. Autorun Protector shows the drive's file system and safety level, and lets you clear MountPoints2 registry, in order to clear the cache information on the removable device. Furthermore, the tool is able to create a custom-protected autorun.inf file, as well as remove it. The simple-to-use tool is very light on the system resources, using minimal CPU and RAM. It has a good response time and commits changes rapidly and without error. We have not found any problems in our tests, since the app did not hang or crash. All in all, Autorun Protector offers a simple solution to protecting your system from the autorun.inf virus. Unfortunately, no recent updates have been made.
