Ashita Project Description

Ashita Project is a radiology program that utilizes computer-aided gradient analysis algorithms in mammograms to increase the accuracy of breast cancer diagnoses and differentiate between maliganant and benign breast tissue. In finding breast cancer mammography is not a completely conclusive process. There are many difficulties in the analysis of mammograms and in the mammography process itself: human error results in missed problem areas in the mammogram, human inability results in missed problem areas, presentation of mammogram image on a computer results in faux problem areas, reading and making a diagnosis from a bone scan is a time consuming process, problem areas are mistaken to be non-problem areas. (e.g., dense breast tissue). Ashita Project provides tools for radiologists to better diagnose patients and hopefully alleviate the stress, worry, and uncertainty involved with breast cancer diagnosis. Ashita Project alpha includes a significant portion of the functionality intended for final release. It has been tested by 5 medical facilities with a 99.2% success rate, with the success rate increasing upon each release. Requirements: ■ Java 2.0 Runtime Environment Limitations: ■ This is an alpha release. As such, not all functionality intended for the final release is included.
