Ascii Picture Designer Description

Ascii Picture Designer is a very easy to use application developed to create ASCII pictures with the help of a straightforward interface and simple features. And the first thing you should notice after launching the program for the first time is its simplicity. The interface looks good and seems to make everything easy as pie, with just a few configuration options displayed in the main window. Plus, Ascii Picture Designer also comes with skin support, which means you can switch to any of the four built-in themes whenever you like. The program offers only the basic brush and eraser tools, with a dedicated option to let you choose the character to use when drawing a new ASCII picture. It supports most characters, be they digits, letters or other symbols. Besides the fact that it lets you create a new ASCII image with ease, Ascii Picture Designer also offers separate tools to export the drawing as a text document, while the “Save” tool bundled into the app uses the .asc format. Obviously, you don't need a super fast computer to run the program and although it runs okay on all Windows versions, there are some compatibility issues on Windows 7 and the app freezes every once in a while. Overall, Ascii Picture Designer is a basic utility to create new Ascii pictures, but more customization options are a must-have for such a program.
