It contains many professional features normally only found in more expensive packages, but the main emphasis is on ease of use and above all - Fun! Please take a few minutes to run thru this guide in order to fully aquaint yourself with all the features of Arthaus Paint & Fotoshop. You will find it much easier to follow these instructions if you print them out. To do this, simply select “Print” from the “File” menu above. 1. Start making colorful patterns straight away! Once Arthaus has loaded, click on the splash screen (or hit the return key), click anywhere on the canvas (the yellow area) and MOVE the mouse whilst holding down the button. This should generate a multi-colored pattern. Under “Options” you have: Mirrors - setting to “None” will only paint directly under the mouse cursor. Vertical / Horizontal Mirrorswill only mirror on that plane, “Both” as you have already seen, mirrors what is drawn across both axis. Paint Mode - “Normal” you have already seen. “Merge” will merge the current color with the one already on the canvas - creating an interesting pattern. “Invert” inverts the color on the canvas. Draw Mode - “Sticky” draws all lines from the originating point, “Normal” turns this off. “Size” makes the brush / lines larger or smaller - simply click on the Sliding bar and move it to the position you require. Confused about any of the options? Want to see quickly what they do? Then use the test pad! It works just like the main canvas, but is obviously smaller. Click “Clear” when it becomes messy. Once you have selected the options you wish to use, click “OK” to continue with your masterpiece!
