Aquaria Description

Aquaria is a very original adventure game played under water. You will play the character of Naija, guiding her in her quest. Naija is very lonely and has does not remember who she is, only her name. This appears to be so much of a inner voyage as it is a fantastic under water voyage. This game introduces multiples new concepts to game play. Naija will explain you how to play: how to swim, and how to use most of the controls and features (many of them are never explained, though, and you have to find them out for yourself). This will allow for a nice learning curve to the game controls and history. Meanwhile, you will be enjoying the magic scenery of the game. At sea there are good and bad creatures. Some of them will even follow Naija around. One of the most interesting features of this game is the music itself. Some recent games have already featured some interaction with the music, based on character's actions; but here you will be able to really interact with the music, as Naija has to sing at different points. The basic controls of the game are all mouse-based: to swim, you just point your mouse and click where you want to go. If you click a little further away, she will jump in that direction (very useful for escaping dangerous waters!). Clicking and holding on Naija with your right mouse button will open the singing menu. Just hover your mouse pointer over the notes symbols and hear Haija sing in harmony with the background music. Your middle mouse button can be useful for looking around. The inventory is accessible by pressing Escape. The graphics are not amazing in detail, but are very beautiful and do convey the fabulous feeling the game aims at. The underwater flora is lush and alive, caves are filled with beaming light, and the architecture looks majestic and forsaken, just as it is supposed to. If you are curious, you should download the demo (available at the site), as the screenshots do not even start to do justice to the fabulous ambiance created by the game.
