Any Messenger Recorder is a simple-to-use software application that's capable of recording sound from a wide range of programs. It can be handled by all types of users, regardless of their skill level. After a brief installation procedure that does not require any special input from the user, you are greeted by a regular window with a plain layout, representing Any Messenger Recorder's interface. A list of all open applications is automatically shown upon deployment. After selecting a preferred one, you can check out Wave information for open devices, such as bits per sample, channel number, open flags, device ID and handle. It is possible to make the app record sound from an input or output device (e.g. microphone, line-in, speakers), or from a default device (although it may cause echo). Once the output directory is established, you can proceed with the recording procedure. Plus, you can create a programs favorites list and enable automatic gain control. From the Settings panel you can modify the default folder for storing records, change the file format and attributes, and set the minimum recording length (in seconds). Logging details are accessible from the File menu. Any Messenger Recorder barely uses CPU and system memory, so it doesn't put a strain on the computer's overall performance.
