AmoK DVD Shrinker Description

AmoK DVD Shrinker is a practical application designed to help you reduce the size of a DVD in order to backup your discs. You can use the program for creating smaller versions of your movies in order to optimize the occupied space on your hard drive. The goal of the application is to extract the movie from the DVD and to select the audio track that you want to have on the output. The interface of the application is easy to understand and displays all the configuration required for converting the disc content. Basically, you just need to select the folder that contains the video files and the target size before stating the operation. Additional options enable you to copy the entire disc or just extract the movie and the soundtrack. On the DVDs that include multiple audio tracks you can select the audio track and language that you want to have on the output video. The program was designed for the casual users since it does not include complex tuning options for controlling the output quality. The user can choose between five quality presets and adjust the size of the output by moving a couple of sliders. A video preview is displayed during the process and the user can check the transfer status by watching basic statistics such as the data input or the frames processed per second. You can also view the shrink ratio in the main window. Although the application does not include the option to burn the output to a disc but it allows you to create an ISO file after the conversion. This enables you to quickly transfer the movie to a disc, without having to use DVD authoring tools. Since converting movie DVDs that are protected by various security systems raises some legal issues, the AmoK DVD Shrinker is limited to processing the discs that are not secured.
