Air Cam is a video sharing tool that broadcasts to iPhones. The suite consists of two applications. The server gets installed on your Windows or Mac OS X computer. And there is a client for the iPhone. The server is free, but the iPhone app costs $7.99. With both applications installed, you can share your webcam with your iPhone. You can access the video feed from your webcam within your home network or over the Internet, via 3G or even Wi-Fi. Air Cam has an impressive feature list. It can stream video constantly or you can configure it so that motion triggers the broadcast. On the iPhone, you can record the video for later playback. The access to the webcam feed can be password protected, for extra security. Air Cam uses FFDShow codecs for playback and recording, and you need to install those. Also, Bonjour is used for zero-configuration connection between your PC and your iPhone. On Windows, IP cameras are supported, and most regular web cameras should present no problem whatsoever. From the server-side, you can enable or disable motion detection and play a bit with ports and video recording devices. You can also add Internet webcams and manually detect iPhones.
