AeroRainbow Description

AeroRainbow is a Windows utility that can modify the appearance of your desktop by automatically changing or adjusting Aero colors. The latest version of AeroRainbow does not need to be installed. As a portable application, it can be run directly from its executable file instead. While running, the program will be available from the System Tray. Although I am not particularly fond of adding many programs to the start-up list, I think this application should at least allow the users to have it start automatically after logon. Setting the options is quite simple because all you need to do is open the corresponding window via the application’s icon at the System Tray and check or uncheck the desired options. There is also a slider that allows you to adjust the frequency you want the color to be changed with. Coloring rules can be created. The simplest way is to use random colors but you can also create a list of colors for the program to use. Other options include using the current wallpaper or active window to calculate a matching color. The software allows two color calculation modes: by dominant color or by average color. In general, AeroRainbow is not an indispensable utility because all it does is adding a new look to your desktop. However, it can help you enrich your Aero experience on Windows 7 by creating a smoother match between the Aero color and the color of the wallpaper. This application is said to have inspired a similar functionality on Windows 8 and its developer claims that AeroRainbow is more powerful than the feature built in that operating system.
