Advanced Log Analyzer Description

Advanced Log Analyzer is an application that analyzes the log files of your Web server and creates a full set of reports. It includes all the classical reports, as well as many brand new ones, which may be very useful for any Web master or Web site manager. The program supports various log file formats, including the most widely used – Internet Information Server (IIS) 7.0 and Apache combined. The program's user interface might look hard to understand at first. However, it displays helpful tips to guide you through all its sections and functions. Basically, the program offers you five buttons that grant you access to all the available sections. These are Main, Reports, Sites, Schedule, and Results. The Main section allows you to select the site you want to analyze and to start the analysis. The sites available here are the ones you have configured through the Sites section. Here you can add as many sites as needed, providing information about the Web server format (i.e. IIS 7.0 or Apache) and the log file path. With regard to the Results section, here you can select any of the available reports to view the very detailed information resulting from the analysis process. The available reports are directly related to the ones that you configured in the Reports section of the program. Here you can create your own reports or modify any of the existing ones. To create a report, you need to provide a name and select the report type and category. Finally, in the Schedule section you can configure the program to analyze the log files of your Web servers automatically. You can define the sites to be analyzed, the periodicity (daily, weekly, or monthly), the exact time to start the analysis, and the action to be performed (download the log file, analyze it, and/or send the results by e-mail). Undoubtedly, Advanced Log Analyzer is a powerful and comprehensive tool that is a must-have for any advanced Web site administrator, mainly because of the thorough log analysis it performs and the amount of reports it provides.
