The app has a clean interface, but the number of features made available require at least some previous experience with this type of apps. As mentioned, the program can play HD videos at high resolution in real time, without causing any type of delays in the clips, which often happens with some tools that aren’t dedicated to this particular task. The app provides complete control over the playback, including modifying the bitrate, playing in reverse and setting loop points. You may also colorize the videos by adjusting the shade of the shadows and highlights, inverting the colors altogether or turning the image to black and white. It’s also possible to adjust the audio presets by selecting the input and output devices, the thread priority and latency, to name just a few. The program supports a wide range of video files, like AVI, but also other type of media, such as JPEG, MP3 and SWF. All in all, AVplayer HD is a nice tool that can be useful to those who often play HD videos. Less experienced users should find the app easy to handle, thanks to the intuitive layout, but some of the features may prove to be too advanced to some users.
