AVI-MPG-WMV Screensaver Description

AVI-MPG-WMV Screensaver is a handy Windows utility that lets you select any video stored on the local disks to be used as screensaver. The really remarkable thing is that this program comprises plenty of options that let you customize the final screensaver, although it’s pretty clear that setting a clip as screensaver is supposed to be an easy task. And it is, mostly thanks to the plain and simple layout that comprises all options in just one window. Users are obviously required to choose one or multiple clips to be used as screensaver, with dedicated settings to play the videos either in sequence or randomly. Sound is supported too, and so is a repeat function, but it’s more important to note that AVI-MPG-WMV Screensaver can use the default video size or force the clips to play in full screen. The video display can be customized too with the help of width and height adjustment settings. AVI-MPG-WMV Screensaver’s options can be accessed from the Windows screensaver menu, so you cannot launch the app just like any other typical program. While the app uses a moderate amount of hardware resources, the screensaver seems to move a bit slow on Windows 7 workstations, especially when the user selects high-resolution clips. As you may find out by reading its name, AVI, MPEG and WMV formats are supported. All things considered, AVI-MPG-WMV Screensaver is quite an interesting project, although it’s pretty obvious that there are many areas to be improved in the next versions.
