A minimal interface can be the right way to go with a music player. ASoftware's Music Player is a light tool that has a nice interface and a minimal menu. The app comes with a compact UI; a semi-transparent rectangle, with a few playback buttons. This way, the program’s frame doesn’t cover up your screen and even lets you see some of the background, albeit somewhat distorted by the glass-like look. ASoftware's Music Player can play various media formats, such as MP3, OGG and FLAC. The files must be added through the drag-and-drop method, which is supported by the program. This means that you can simply open up your music directory and select all the desired songs. You can add individual files, entire folders or even drives. All the files appear as playlist entries with the title, artist and album name. Files can be played in a random order by enabling the “Shuffle” feature from the interface. Furthermore, you can view various technical details about the song that’s playing, such as the bit rate, frequency, year of release, publisher, copyright and length. The software has no additional settings, so right-clicking on the app’s interface doesn’t work. Also, there are only a few basic playback buttons, such as play/pause, previous and next song. All in all, ASoftware’s Music Player is a nice tool that’s extremely light on your computer’s resources. If you’re not looking for extensive customization and playback options, this app should do the trick. Inexperienced users should have no problems working with this player.
