AHD Video Converter Description

AHD Video Converter is an application designed to help you encode audio tracks and video clips to ASV, AVI, MPG, VOB, MKV, MP3, WAV, AAC and M4A, among others. But it can also prepare items for iPhone, Creative Zen, Nokia, Windows Mobile and other devices. The program is wrapped in a clean and intuitive interface. Items can be imported into the file queue by using either the file browser or "drag and drop" function. It is possible to work with multiple entries at the same time. In the file queue you can find out the source, duration, estimated size, target name and status of each media file. After you establish the output profile and destination, you can proceed with the encoding operation with the default settings. But you can configure audio and video properties when it comes to the resolution, encoder, frame rate, bit rate, sample rate and channel mode. Settings can be restored to their standard values. Additionally, you can preview clips in a small, built-in media player and trim them by marking the start and end position or time values, rename files, as well as add a URL and set AHD Video Converter to run in the background. In the "Settings" area you can set the tool to automatically turn off the computer or to open the destination folder after conversion, as well as change the default output directory and configure proxy settings. The video encoding tool requires a moderate amount of CPU and system memory, in order to convert a video in reasonable time. It is very responsive and comes with a help file. No error dialogs have popped up during our tests and AHD Video Converter did not freeze or crash. On the downside, you cannot set the process priority, capture frames, minimize AHD Video Converter to the system tray or schedule a conversion task.
