medesync Description

medesync was born out of a desire to have a media repository source which is lazily synced down to a mede8er media player via the FTP server provided by the firmware.medesync is a rather simple file synchronize that can sync filesystems where the source is local and the destination is ftp. By extension, it should be able to do the reverse (ftp to local) and even others (local to local, ftp to ftp) -- though these secondary functions could probably stand for some testing.Installation: Put medesync.py (main script) and opts.py (commandline parameter handler) into the same dir and run with --help for help. The usage is quite straightforward and should be relatively easy for you to figure out. Heck, if you know how to get media on your mede8er via FTP at the moment, I would assume you can run this. medesync is a cross-platform utility capable of running on any operating system that comes with Java support (e.g. Mac OS X, Windows, Linux).
