An open source and free konspire2b-based online sharing application kast is the first konspire2b-based app. Since it uses a web-based user interface, kast works on almost any modern platform (it can currently be downloaded for five major platforms).konspire2b is a peer-to-peer filesharing system that is markedly different from any existing system (k2b is the first "sink-discovery" system). k2b is being developed in platform-independent C++. kast is the only existing file sharing app that:· runs on all modern computer platforms,· requires no additional software to be downloaded or installed,· has a graphical user interface, and· was not written using java.Other non-java apps may "work" on several platforms, assuming that you download and install a user interface library first. On the other hand, almost everyone already has a web browser installed.Some users still prefer text-based user interfaces in a terminal window. kast is also the only file sharing app with a graphical interface that also works automatically in a terminal window (by using a terminal-based web browsers such as lynx).After downloading and installing it on your Mac, run kast. With kast running, you will have to open the following url to connect to your node's user interface: http://localhost:8085.
